Our Curvy Girl cover girl for our “unphotoshopped, regular woman campaign has something she wants to share with the the self described “hot mom. Our beautiful, dazzling and adorable cover girl with the big gorgeous smile who posed in her pink panties and bra. She has become our cover girl and it was her idea to begin with. She asked me if she could share a picture to create empathy and show the other curvy women on our page what an “unphotoshopped, regular woman” looks like in lingerie. Here is her “official” response:
Ms. Kang,
I believe you have concerns about women with curves. Let me assure you, you shouldn’t. While you have built yourself a considerable empire promoting self improvement through diet, exercise, and a healthier lifestyle, you insinuate that those whom are overweight are complacent and don’t care about their health. I believe you used the term “lazy.” It is not your job or your business to label every single overweight or obese person in this country. It is your job, however, to stay focused on what your mission is all about and preach it to those who want to listen. So, in other words, leave Proud Curvy Women like myself alone.

You tainted a project that was intended to give inspiration, courage, pride, and self worth. I just don’t understand why? No one EVER asked for your opinion. No one EVER targeted you or mentioned, ” Maria Kang, I DON’T HAVE TO HAVE AN EXCUSE!” You do NOT know me, but let me give you some insight. While I may rock a lot of curves, I have lost 110 pounds and I have kept that off for eight years, including pregnancy. I am not, repeat, NOT, hypertensive, diabetic, nor do I have high cholesterol. I work full time and I am a single Mom to a child with special needs. So, before you keep THINKING (and I use that term loosely) you know every single overweight and obese person on this God-green Earth, let me assure you, once again, you don’t!You and your supporters can bully and belittle us all you want. But it won’t change anything. It won’t change the way we have helped women. Beautiful women. Women who have truly discovered that they do not have to conform to what YOU think they should be. All they have to be is who they really are.
We started a change. If we want your help, we’ll ask, just don’t hold your breath. .
