This month, some of my friends and all time favorite Bliss customers are hosting one of my Bliss mini pleasure parties here on Nov. 9th and they are asking each of their guests to bring some items they can donate to the Grateful Garment Project.
I wanted to make this a month long project here at Curvy Girl – but was inspired by Ashley, Francis and their friends who gave me the idea. So, we will be a collection point until the end of November and are looking for the below items. These items will all be donated to women and families who are in need. (And here is another way to donate – my friend Elainna is making a special offer from her and AVON, too.)
Donate Personal Goods for Victims:
- There is a great need for new clothing (sweatshirts, underwear, t-shirts, sweatpants, bras) and slippers/flip flops, in various sizes, for victims to wear home. (In this specific example, these are women who have been raped and need something clean to wear home.)
In addition to those personal items, we will also be collecting the following items to be donated to various local charities that help women and families who are victims of any kind of domestic violence.
- Individually wrapped nuts
- Instant Meals
- Protein bars
- Instant Oatmeal
- Chips
- Beef jerky
- Instant Cream of Wheat
- Toothbrushes
- Deodorant
- Hair brushes
- Lip balm
- Hand Sanitizer
- Hair ties
- Mouthwash
I am a big supporter of the NextDoor shelter here in San Jose and these are the type of items they could use for their client pantry:
Donate Personal Goods for Victims:
Women fleeing abuse in the middle of the night are often forced to leave all of their possessions behind. Gift certificates are recommended to allow women to make their own personal choices. Next Door also welcomes the following new and unopened items:
Items for our Client Pantry:
- Diapers of all sizes
- Deodorant, razors, lotion, etc.
- Wipes in travel sizes
- New underwear (all sizes) children and adults
- Full size shampoo and conditioners
- Full size hand lotions
- Full size bars of soap
- Tooth brushes / tooth paste
- New t-shirts
- New Sweat shirts
- New Sweat pants
We will be collecting any of these kinds of items you can donate and we will make a couple of deliveries to them as we collect items. Thanks in advance for your help. I really appreciate it and I know in the past how generous you have all been when we did this for our Blue Star Moms (for our soldiers overseas). Call me at the store if you have any questions. If you are personally in need of some URGENT help with a violent situation in your home, Next Door does have an emergency line 408-279-2962.
