What an amazing two to three weeks it has been for Positive Plus Size News. So many good things happening and I am just so excited, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Want to share them all with you here. Comment if I forgot anything and I can add it to the list. (Your blog comments are always welcome. Google loves comments! It makes my blog look relevant to the search engines. HINT HINT…. shameless, I know.)
1. “Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls” is now available in bookstores and online! I was so fortunate to be at the Oct. 27th Launch Party and Book Signing in San Francisco and got to hug Jes Baker about 10 times that night. (Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but I wanted to!) It’s a great read and you can even read my short essay on page 213! Of course, you know I am always talking about hot sex and the fat girl! Buy your copy asap. It’s a great read and will also make a great gift. Oh and Oh Yah, no biggee, but Jes was on THE TODAY SHOW! (<<click link to watch Jes preach it on the Today show! Such amazing coverage.

2. Curvy Girls Love Hot Sex, Too! (And I will add “DUH!) So excited that the t.v. show “Empire” shows the stunning, smart and always sassy Gabouray Sibide in a very HOT and STEAMY scene as her character “Becky.” WOW. You just almost NEVER see a woman of size in a sexy, steamy scene like that one. Here is some more information about Gabby’s response to the haters out there. I just adore how she rarely seems bothered by the haters. She is #booked! She said she “felt beautiful.” She is always beautiful. Here’s to hoping we will see lots more women of size and women of color in the media. Gabby is definitely one of my sheroes and some how some way want to gift her some sexy plus size lingerie.
Rebel Wilson, Torrid
3. Rebel Wilson launched a clothing line for Torrid. Now, if you are plus size, you know all too well that we do not have a lot of options for shopping. Pretty much when you go to events with other curvy women, you will no doubt find other women wearing some of the same items you’re wearing. It’s nice to have options. And, it’s great when high profile and fierce fatties like Tess Holliday and Rebel work with Torrid to improve our profile and our social capital. It’s also fab when women like Melissa McCarthy come out with lines of clothing for us. Now, you can say whatever you like about their clothes. I am not a fan of some of them either, but there is no denying that these three women are doing their part to help us all to dress more stylishly and less like our Grandma’s drapes from 1969. Add in Monif and Ashley Nell Tipton and things are really looking much better on the fashion front, finally.

4. MonifC is celebrating their 10th Anniversary! Their campaign is “A Decade of Curves.” How awesome is that. Check out her Anniversary Collection, too, here. She is celebrating 10 years of curvy fashion. A full decade. So exciting. She is such a trailblazer. Savvy, smart business owner and a brilliant designer, too. Stunning, sexy dresses and some of the most fashion forward swim suits out here for women of size. So happy for Monif and staff. Congratulations. Here’s to many many more business anniversaries.
Ashley Nell Tipton
5. Project Runway’s 2015 Winner is a gorgeous plus size woman and she designed the first ever Plus Size Line for a Project Runway show. That is the business, right there. My Facebook and Instagram has been a sea of LAVENDER. Ashley Nell Tipton has the most beautiful purple hair, too! Can you imagine all of the sexy, pretty, romantic, feminine, gorgeous items she is going to design for all of us women of size? It’s so exciting that so many fresh faces are making an inroad and we will all get to benefit and ride the fashion wave and ride the tip of the acceptance wave. I can only imagine all of the other aspiring designers out there that she will inspire. Things can only get better from here, Curvies!
6. Plus Life TV: Now I am going to give my own store and t.v. show a little shout out here, too. Last week, we announced and released our sizzle reel for our TV show that is breaking all the rules. Our trailer / sizzle reel is here on You Tube. 2:59 long. Lots of sexy, sassy Curvy women in this video.
