Normalizing Menopause / Perimenopause:
I am 51 and am experiencing perimenopause and have been for the past 4 years. Ragey and stabby on occasion. Sometimes intense sadness. Acne on my wrinkles (which is some serious bullshit) and yet, I still have a cycle. See why I am stabby?
I feel very calm and confident in my body and in my self. I give no more fu**s about what anyone else has to say about my body, my life, me…. If I don’t love you, I just don’t care. That is a very peaceful feeling.
I FEEL things so much more intensely (like social injustice) and I cry when I see other people crying or when anyone else is hurting, in pain, their family members are in pain, etc.
My main point is that perimenopause is a freaking roller coaster – but there has been good with the crappy. I did start taking Effexor about 2.5 years ago and that has helped me a lot through some really heavy life stuff. I am very grateful for my Effexor. It made me feel like me again.
If you are experiencing menopause or perimenopause, you may also be experiencing some dryness with sex. I absolutely LOVE the pjur silicone lube and have been loving it since about 2005 and I recommend it to my friends and family, too.
You can buy it on sale here if you want to try it out. It has ZERO preservatives, ZERO fragrance, ZERO flavor. Super long lasting. NEVER itches or burns. Makes sex slippery and silky and it never ever dries out.
Here is a great link about FATIGUE and Menopause from Healthline.
And this is from the Harvard Health Publishing about the symptoms of perimenopause that lead up to menopause.
