Did you know that perfectly fabulous people who want to adopt a child can be turned down based on their B.M.I.? What kind of bullshit is this? To say I am hopping mad is an understatement. I can’t even think right now I am so furious. And, she is a size freaking 14. (Which, btw, in American she would be a part of the MAJORITY since 70% of American women are size 14 or larger.) So, that would mean that here in America only about 30% of very qualified, very loving, very generous people would be able to adopt if they wanted to. Acccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk! Pulling my hair out as I type. I wonder if this also happens in the U.S. or just in the U.K. where Donna lives.
Please can you comment on the blog here in the comments section if you have been turned down based on your weight or BMI? This could potentially be helpful to have this information all in one place.
My friend Annalisa Hackelman shared Donna’s story with me today. Some of you may know Annalisa from a blog I wrote about her new episode of “Strange Love” which I blogged about last week. Her friend Donna is the person in this story.

Please share here in the comments section if you have also been turned down to adopt or foster adopt because you are too fat. I am hoping Donna will create a Change.org petition so we can lend her our support by signing it.
